To review the progress in Africa at national, sub-regional and regional levels, and to accelerate the implementation of the Africa Strategy, Programme of Action and the HFA, the Second Africa Regional Platform for DRR Consultative Meeting is being organized jointly by the AUC and the UNISDR Africa Regional Office in Nairobi. Representatives from governments, National Platforms or multi-sectoral national committee to promote DRR, regional and sub-regional organizations, UN agencies, donors and international organizations are invited to attend the meeting. The Africa Regional Platform Consultative Meeting will also serve as a consultation event prior to the upcoming Second Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction scheduled from 16 to 19 June 2009 in Geneva, Switzerland.
