International forum on satellite earth observation for geo-hazard risk management
The programme comprises Thematic sessions focused on seismic hazards, volcanoes, landslides, hydro-geology & generic subsidence and Coastal lowland subsidence & flood defense. Different geohazard risk communities represented at the Forum are working on community papers with the scope to describe the state-of-the-art concerning research & applications and define a 10-year vision on the use of data from new and planned Satellite EO missions. Draft White Papers will be distributed before the event, will be discussed at the Forum and will be available for open review after the event with the aim of publishing a final report to be released by the conference co-organizers.
Invited speakers will present their experience and expertise concerning the use of Satellite Earth Observation in Thematic sessions : seismic hazards, volcanoes, landslides, coastal lowland subsidence & flood defense, hydro-geology & inactive mine subsidence. The Forum is an opportunity to discuss the requirements for EO missions and consolidate a road map to further advance the development of observations capable of supporting the geo-hazard risk community. In addition it is planned to consult with leading industrial players of the EO sector (Mission operators, Data providers, Service providers) in an Industry session looking at future perspectives concerning industrial services.
A scientific and technical report will be released as a joint ESA GEO publication. In parallel to the main sessions, a Poster session will be organised based on abstracts submitted to the Science Programme Committee.
