C-2: Direct agricultural loss attributed to disasters

This commitment strengthens climate and disaster resilience in Guidimakha, Mauritania through community-led Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and eco-DRR, addressing floods, drought, heatwaves and wildfires, with a replication and learning window for Nouakchott’s coastal/littoral resilience (2026–2028).

This report examines the climate evolution of El Niño phenomenon In Latin America and the Caribbean, its impacts in different industries (agriculture, water management, health, infrastructure) and the governments and community responses. Lessons Learnt are highlighted in regards to better preparation and mitigation efforts for future events.

National drought monitors were built using routines that calculate a weighted mixed indicator from drought indices for Western South America countries: Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Chile. We are a working group under the International Organization for Standardization’s ISO TC 268 SC1 Smart Community Infrastructure. Our working group focuses on the standardization of smart community infrastructure which could strengthen community resiliency against potential disasters.

When disasters hit, animals also experience terrible effects as people do. This commitment aims at increasing the protection of animals exposed to disasters by, for example, providing online training on animal rescue and disaster management.

A platform of stakeholders working on resilience in Senegal has been set up. The objective of the Agora 30 of Resilience is to promote the synergy of initiatives for building resilience to climate extremes and other disasters.

The Global Centre for Disaster Statistics (GCDS) aims to support the monitoring and evaluation of progress in the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, in its seven global targets.

Provincial Government of Province 1, Nepal is going to formulate key policy documents as Disaster Resilient Policy, Strategic Action Plan, Disaster Response Framework, and Disaster Impact Assessment Guideline in the year 2019.
