Russia and neighbouring countries: environmental, economic and social impacts of climate change

Source(s):  Oxfam International Secretariat
World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF)

This report examines climate change in Russia and its neighbouring countries. Using case studies from the Arctic Region and the river valleys of central Russia, it surveys the effects of climate change on the environment, the economy and society and pays special attention to the lack of drinking water and the spread of diseases.

This report is expected to serve as a call to arms to arrest the damage, and support the people suffering most to avoid worsening conditions to render habitats barren, causing the extinction of species and the migration of millions of people.
