This plan sets out strategic direction and priorities for the next five years in the Oceania region. It is the result of an extensive process of consultation with member countries and territories, development partners and staff.
The contributions of the Pacific Community to the achievement of its members' development goals are (pp. 5-6):
- Goal 1: Pacific people benefit from sustainable economic development.
- Strengthen the sustainable management of natural resources.
- Strengthen sustainable transport and energy security.
- Goal 2: Pacific communities are empowered and resilient.
- Improve multi-sectoral response to climate change and disasters.
- Goal 3: Pacific people reach their potential and live long and healthy lives.
- Improve multi-sectoral response to non-communicable diseases and food security.
- Strengthen regional public health surveillance and response.
