NYT: For 7.8 million Californians, an earthquake drill
'This is not just a drill, it's a reality' said the Mayor of San Francisco, CA (USA) taking part in the Great California ShakeOut earthquake preparedness event involving an estimated 7.8 million residents, including schools and hospitals, and showcasing collaboration among governments, NGOs and insurance companies as reported by the New York Times.
This was the second drill in two years, also commemorating the last major earthquake which hit the area on 21 October 1868.
