The Climate Resilience Measurement for Communities (CRMC)

This document provides detail on the conceptual framework behind the Climate Resilience Measurement for Communities (CRMC) and explains how it is applied practically, including the software used. The CRMC is designed to assess community resilience to floods, heatwaves, wildfires and/or storms. It has the potential to be expanded to other climate-related hazards in the future.

The CRMC takes a systems-based, holistic approach to resilience measurement, capturing data across multiple dimensions of resilience. The CRMC data cockpit visualizes the results, adding significant analytical depth and offering insights into strengths, gaps and interconnections across the entire resilience space, in order to support users to identify key areas for action. Designed for practitioners across diverse contexts, the CRMC is adaptable to various organizations, geographies, and socio-economic conditions, making it applicable to most communities worldwide. It is supported by eLearning and generates unprecedented data and insights on measuring and strengthening community disaster resilience.
