"Our vision for Singapore is a climate resilient global city that is well positioned for green growth. We need a whole-of-nation effort – involving the people, the private and the public sectors to realize our vision.” stated Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean when introducing Singapore's climate change strategy, entitled 'Climate Change & Singapore: Challenges. Opportunities. Partnerships.', reports National Geographic.

The densely populated country, which is situated on a low-lying island, recognizes the importance of adapting to climate change induced events such as flooding and severe weather events. The climate change strategy focuses on integrated land use planning, water management and encourages investment in research and critical infrastructure.
