Source(s): Korea Herald - Herald Media Inc.

Writing for the Korea Herald, Lee Woo-young reports on Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon's tour of disaster prevention centers and new renewable energy facilities in Japan. The three-day official visit is intended for the Mayor to learn from Japan's disaster preparedness and efficient use of energy, which he plans to use in developing a safety plan for Seoul. The tour includes the visit of two reservoirs designed to prevent flooding during torrential rain and to release water during the dry season, and of Tokyo’s sophisticated earthquake system and benchmark it for his quake preparedness plan.
