Orissa seeks aid to fight natural disasters

State government of Orissa has submitted a proposal of Rs 609.40 crore with National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to initiate measures to face calamities. Rs 190 crore of these funds would be earmarked for saline embankment along the coast, Rs 195 crore would be kept aside for providing road connectivity to various calamity shelters. Similarly, Rs 23 crore was proposed to be spent on planting trees along the coast and generation of mangrove forest which works as buffer against cyclone.
