Participants at the just concluded 4th Lagos Climate Change Summit have called on the the Federal government to take the lead in integrating the states into its efforts at combating the challenges of climate change. They also called for good synergies between policy makers, scientists, the citizens and other stakeholders, reports the Vanguard.

A 27-point communique, released at the end of the summit themed 'Vulnerability and Adaptability in Nigeria: Lagos State Agriculture, Industry and Health Sectors in Focus', urges bilateral relations to build capacity - particularly in gathering, analysing, and disseminating climate data to determine climate change risk, impact and facilitate adaptation planning; collaborating with civil society and private sector from the bottom up; and investing in research to predict local impacts.
