Japan, Thailand agree to cooperate on disaster management

According to the Mainichi Daily News, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda and his Thai counterpart Yingluck Shinawatra, announced in a joint statement an agreement to cooperate closely on disaster management to ensure their economies become more resilient and interdependent in order to restore investor's confidence following Thailand's devastating flooding. While both countries have been working together to develop a master plan on flood control measures, Japan offered Thailand to use a Japanese observation satellite to help avoid a recurrence of the damage caused by the massive flooding last year, according to officials.
