On the basis of a report examining the government's readiness for anticipated climate changes in the coming years, the Ministry of Environmental Protection announced a comprehensive national plan of action for what it called, "adaptation to climate change". According to Globes, the plan would include the adaptation of buildings to weather climate changes, urban planning changes for the expected rise in temperature and flooding, adaptation of civilian and military coastal facilities to counteract rising sea levels, as well as new insurance plans covering 'natural' disasters.
