Fiji National Disaster Week was launched 10 November with the theme, Knowledge for Life, which is adapted to suit the local context with advocacy messages on drought, cyclone and flood preparedness, reports FBC.
Permanent Secretary for Natural Disaster Management, Setareki Tale, said 'As a coastal country we cannot ignore the impact of geo technical hazard like tsunamis triggered by ocean earthquakes or submarine landslides... that Fiji is exposed to’.
