Bangladesh observed the World Environment Day 2013 with the theme 'Think, Eat, Save', reports the CMDRR Forum and partners - who says that, in Bangladesh, global food production occupies 25% of all habitable land and is responsible for 70% of fresh water consumption, 80% of deforestation, and 30% of greenhouse gas emissions. It is the largest single driver of biodiversity loss and land-use change.

Their observance of the World Environment Day-2013 in Bangladesh highlighted an anti-food waste and food loss campaign which encourages people to reduce their food print. Activities included a rally at national level, and a national seminar. The day was observed on 5th June and celebrated jointly by CMDRR Forum, Bangladesh along with its 13 partner and the Department of Environment.
