Technology application on disaster risk reduction for hydro-meteorological hazards

This is a workshop on hydro-metrological hazards, especially technology-based solutions, operation and strategies. During the sessions, the presenters will depict the linkages of science technology developments between, planning for disaster reduction, implementation, emergency operation and adaptation strategies.

The topics will include but are not limited to:

- Technology solutions to hydro- meteorological related hazards in Taiwan including typhoons, floods, monsoon, landslide and debris flow.
- Challenges of compound disasters and urban floods.
- Information platform to integrate intra governmental agencies.
- Assessment of risk and vulnerability.
- Mechanism of the practical implementation for technology outcomes.
- Development of adaptation strategies.
- Public and private partnership for capacity building of disaster risk reduction.
- Technology-based emergency operation for floods, typhoons and debris.
- Field trip to 10th River Management Office, WRA, MOEA and flood control facilities.
