Zambia: National disaster management policy (2015)
Publication Year
2015
The 2015 disaster management policy is based on a review of the 2005 policy, necessitated by the National Disaster Management Act No. 13 of 2010, the paradigm shift from disaster management to disaster risk reduction, climate change and decentralization. The objectives of the new policy are to promote sustainable development among vulnerable communities and improve their resilience, thus making them contribute more to the national development.
The revised Policy will be implemented in the period 2015-2020.
