The right to survive: the humanitarian challenge for the twenty-first century
This report asks what can realistically be done to help those affected by the vast and seemingly overwhelming forces of climate change, population growth, displacement, and vulnerability. It demonstrates that the necessary skills, knowledge, and financial resources can be mobilised to radically reduce the numbers of people who will die or be made destitute by catastrophes if all parties – governments, the UN, civil-society organisations, and ordinary citizens – acknowledge and respond to the growing threat.
