Strengthening Early Warnings for All: Advancing observation-to-alerts for early warnings
This publication highlights the progress made in five countries in advancing the EW4All initiative through targeted investments and technical assistance funded by the Government of Sweden via the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR). The Early Warnings for All (EW4All) initiative represents a global commitment to ensuring that every person, everywhere, is protected by early warning systems.
By strengthening national capacities, systems and operations across the multi-hazard early warning systems (MHEWS) value chain, countries become better able to anticipate, respond to and adapt to the changing climate, building resilience and more sustainable development. These efforts have been particularly impactful in least developed countries (LDCs), small island developing States (SIDS) and fragile and conflict-affected (FCV) contexts, where risks are compounded and vulnerabilities heightened.
