Adaptation to climate change: challenges for small-scale agriculture
Information flash no. 2:
This paper presents new approaches, methods and adaptation strategies that can be developed in order to address the climate change phenomena, which increasingly affect livelihood systems of vulnerable small scale farmer societies worldwide. It advocates for sustainable agricultural practices, especially land management practices, that can contribute significantly to reducing the risk of disasters, such as drought, flooding and landslides.
The paper was prepared by the Centre for Development and Environment, University of Bern, for the Climate Change Network F2F meeting that took place in Cuzco, Peru, in May 2011.
