Afghanistan: Shelters for 756 families internally displaced by flooding and landslides

Source(s): Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development (ACTED)

What is ACTED doing to help?

Our teams in Afghanistan have built 416 transitional shelters as well as latrines (toilets), for these internally displaced families in Badakhshan and Baghlan provinces in the North and North East of the country, with OFDA/USAID support.

The households were also trained on techniques to reduce the impact of disaster when it strikes (disaster risk reduction), like building shelters in the least at risk areas.

ACTED will continue supporting families whose lives and homes have been devastated by natural disaster by building another 340 shelters, with OFDA/USAID support.
