Australia: Hobart meeting reviews climate change

Over 250 top climate scientists, the lead-authors of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report are participating in the ongoing IPCC conference in Hobart, Australia. One of the attendees, Dr Scott Power, of the Australian Bureau of Meteorology, coordinating lead author for the IPCC report told SBS that extreme temperatures, heatwaves and bushfires are typically part of Australian summers, but climate change is increasing the likelihood and intensity of such extremes.
