Philippines: 'It pays to be prepared' - World Vision

The advocacy and capacity-building DRR training programme 'Batang Handarun' by World Vision, is being conducted for children and their families nationwide, particularly in the most vulnerable and disaster prone areas in Mindanao reports The Manila Bulletin.

“In any disaster, it’s important to prepare the children mentally, emotionally, and spiritually so they can cope with the situation. [..] they should be prepared to become like superheroes and help rescue their loved ones and themselves,” stresses Boris Joaquin, director of Public Engagement, World Vision Philippines.
