Armenian emergencies ministry and South Caucasus railways sign cooperation memorandum

Armenian emergency situations minister, Armen Yeritsyan and Shevket Shaidullin, CEO of the South Caucasus Railways, a Russian-run company operating Armenia’s railroads, signed in Yerevan on 6 December a cooperation memorandum, reports Arka News Agency. This cooperation has been signed to implement measures against 'natural' disasters as well as enhancing forecasting, monitoring and early warning in case of man-made disasters, 'natural' disasters, and to raise public awareness. "This is one of the first steps. As part of the national platform for disaster risk reduction, we must cooperate with all ministries and departments," said the minister.
