Twenty-seventh Greater Horn of Africa climate outlook forum (GHACOF 27)

The IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC), participating National Meteorological & Hydrological Services (NMHSs), and WMO in collaboration with other partners are organizing the 27th Climate Outlook Forum for the Greater Horn of Africa (GHACOF27) to be held in Arusha, Tanzania on 28 February 2011.

The theme of the forum will be 'Optimizing the use of the Regional Climate Outlook Forums (RCOFs) in building disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation capacity for sustainable development in the Greater Horn of Africa'.

In addition ICPAC in collaboration with WMO, GCOS, WCRP, East African Community (EAC) and Tanzania Meteorological Agency (TMA) are organizing a workshop on climate change adaptation from 1 to 4 March 2011. The main purpose of the workshop is to assess the usefulness of regional climate change scenario impacts, vulnerability and adaptation at local, national and regional levels.
