ISCRAM 2026 - Building Stronger Futures. Ensuring Public Safety in Times of Crisis
Leiden University - Campus The Hague
- English
The theme of ISCRAM 2026, ‘Building Stronger Futures’, highlights the collective risks posed by natural hazards, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, critical infrastructure, and climate change.
The conference will explore a broad range of crises to enhance our understanding of compound risks across sectors. Specific focus areas will include climate change, cybersecurity, civil defense, critical infrastructure, and public health.
In addition to broadening its scope, ISCRAM 2026 aims to deepen understanding of the ‘whole-of-society’ approach. While much attention in crisis management is given to professional responses, there is a growing need to recognize the crucial role of society.
Addressing compound risks requires widespread awareness and engagement from citizens, societal groups, and businesses. Greater involvement of these stakeholders can help crisis managers better understand and guide social dynamics that influence the impact of crises. Involving the whole of society in crisis management is essential for building long-term resilience and leveraging the diverse resources available within communities.
