Business World Online reports that the Northern Mindanao Regional Development Council in the Philippines has taken out a $200-million loan for the Mindanao Rural Development Program's second phase. Other endorsed projects include a high technology radar system to be used in early warning, climate monitoring and weather forecasting. In addition, the "Enhancing Capacities on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management/Climate Change Adaptation" project was launched at the same meeting.
