Voluntary Commitments

The Sendai Framework Commitments (SFVC) online platform serves to incentivize stakeholders to inform the public about their work, to provide a vehicle for sharing commitments and initiatives and for motivation toward the implementation of the Sendai Framework. In turn, UNDRR can monitor and take stock of the progress and impact.

Makati First Responder's Training through City-to-City Cooperation
This city-to-city cooperation initiative between Yokohama and Makati transferred the necessary practical skills to effectively and efficiently manage the response tactics of the first responders of Makati. The training was conducted in both Yokohama and Makati for two years.

Bosai Culture and Disaster Education in Nepal
This project is a replication of the previous project conducted by CityNet Yokohama Project Office to train teachers on DRR education and utilization of DRR educational kit. This project targeted rural municipalities in Nepal and was conducted online due to the ongoing pandemic.

Mitra Disaster Risk Reduction Learning Center
Nepal's first disaster risk reduction learning center aims to improve the knowledge sharing of disaster prevention activities in Nepal through schools and communities using creative and innovative tools introduced from Japan and localized in Nepal.

CITYNET Disaster Cluster Annual Seminar
The CITYNET Disaster Cluster Seminar (DCS) is an annual seminar during which participants from local governments, industry, civil society organizations, and others working in DRR come together to share knowledge and best practices on DRR topics.

Training on Structural and Seismic Engineering between Japan and Nepal
A training project on knowledge-sharing between Japanese and Nepali Engineers to reduce future earthquake damages throughout Kathmandu and Nepal.

Community Based Adaptation and Resilience Against Disasters (CBARAD) in the City of Iloilo
This project effected community-level adaptation and resiliency schemes in the City of Iloilo in the Philippines and increased the awareness levels of citizens in order to create self-sustaining communities.

School Based Sustainable DRR Education and Material Development Project in Nepal
A project aimed to increase DRR education and knowledge throughout communities in Nepal, focusing on providing DRR education toolkits and capacity building to teachers, and thus children, their families, and the community.
