Climate risk profile: Pacific islands

Source(s):  United States Agency for International Development (USAID)

This profile provides an overview of climate risk issues in the Pacific Islands region, including the Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu. The profile summarizes how climate change will potentially impact six key sectors across the region: coastal zones, agriculture, human health, livelihoods and tourism, water resources, and energy and infrastructure.

The brief also includes an overview of historical and future climate trends in the region, the policy context outlining existing climate risk strategies and plans developed by these countries, and a list of ongoing projects that focus on climate adaptation in the Pacific Islands.
