This Position Paper is a policy neutral document to provide guidance to the Directors and senior managers from National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs) at COP 17 on the role of meteorological and hydrological services in climate services for adaptation and sustainable development. It asserts that learning to adapt to present weather and climate variability helps develop capacity to adapt to future climate change.
