This report summarizes a scoping study assessing: (i) the impacts and economic costs of climate change in Tanzania; (ii) the costs and benefits of adaptation; and (iii) the potential for low carbon growth. It presents the key messages from the study and reviews the existing climate variability as well as the future projections of climate change for Tanzania, including change in precipitations and extreme events (floods and droughts) and urges for improved disaster risk reduction, and the need to move towards integrated coastal zone management (ICZM). It also review the impacts and economics costs of climate change by sectors such as: coastal zones, agriculture, health, energy, water, forests, biodiversity and ecosystem services.
