Action plan in the health sector for heat waves and high temperatures
Considering that maximum temperatures are expected to continue increasing in the coming years as a consequence of climate change, this plan was developed with information and actions that help address this phenomenon and thereby reduce the risk of morbidity and mortality associated with high temperatures and the occurrence of heat waves. This document is aimed at directors of Municipal Health Departments and hospitals within the network, as well as those responsible for climate change, emergencies, and disasters, to promote decision-making and local actions that help address high temperatures according to the reality of each facility. It is also intended for professionals who provide direct care to communities, with the goal of reinforcing the incorporation of environmental conditions in the clinical evaluation of patients seen on an outpatient basis during scheduled consultations and in emergency services.
