Spatial approach for assessing vulnerability to urban flooding: a proposal for a multidimensional index
This research offers a methodology and set of indicators for evaluating long-term vulnerability to floods in urban areas, addressing the urgent need for improving urban planning and disaster risk management. The proposed methodology includes different dimensions and components of vulnerability, which allows for a multidisciplinary approach to vulnerability assessment.
This study proposes a comprehensive list of 36 potential indicators for quantifying vulnerability, with each indicator falling under one of the four dimensions (social, economic, environmental, and physical) and three components of vulnerability (exposure, susceptibility, and resilience).
