Avalanches are Canada’s deadliest natural hazard, prevention and education are crucial. $25 million were given to support Avalanche Canada's activity on avalanche safety.
Through the Transportation Assets Risk Assessment Program, Canada is investing over $290,000 in Alberta’s airports to make its infrastructure more resilient to climate and extreme weather events. A screening process will be developed as part of this project to evaluate the possible disruptions to daily operations that could be caused by extreme weather.

The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
