European scholars find prior experience heightens perceptions of disaster risks - Society for Risk Analysis
European researchers say that experiencing an earthquake, flood or other crisis leads to heightened perceptions of risks posed by these and even other unrelated risks. The new study underscores the importance of risk perception analysis in helping emergency responders, government officials and communicators in the public sphere respond to crises.
