'This earthquake app could save lives'

Source(s): Huffington Post Inc.

The Huffington Post announces that a new award-winning earthquake app could help prevent deaths during an earthquake, detect survivors, let loved ones know you're ok and coordinate targeted relief efforts. QuakeUp is a smartphone application that saves lives by empowering people in earthquake areas, turning them into situ "human captors", and providing them with instantaneous early warnings so they can take action.

The app recently won the Sophia Antipolis prize at the European Satellite Navigation Competition in Munich on October 19, 2011 and will be available in early 2012.
