Indonesia: In flood-prone Flores, villagers fight to keep their heads above water

Although traditional wisdom and hard-earned lessons enabled villagers of Tanali and West Mautenda to diminish the potentially disastrous consequences of flooding and landslides during the rainy season, residents are also getting a helping hand from Oxfam, the Australia Indonesia Partnership, the Flores Institute for Resource Development and the Tanali Development Foundation, who look forward to implement a community-based disaster risk reduction program throughout the district.
