ICL: Call for the 'World Centres of Excellence on Landslide Risk Reduction'

The Global Promotion Committee of International Programme on Landslides (IPL-GPC) has announced the Call for the World Centres of Excellence (WCoEs) on Landslide Risk Reduction which will be identified at the Second World Landslide Forum at the UN Food and Agriculture Headquarters in Rome on 3-9 October 2011.

WCOEs will be decided by IPL-GPC based on the endorsement from an independent panel of experts.
IPL-GPC consists of ICL, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), World Meteorological Organization (WMO), FAO, United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR), United Nations University (UNU), International Council for Science (ICSU), World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) and International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS). The Chairperson of the committee is Sálvano Briceño, Director of UNISDR.
