'Predicting space weather needs international response'
According to SPACE.com, scientists warn that the Earth might be vulnerable to "space weather events", radiation bombarding the planet from powerful solar flares that could result in a loss of power, water and communications on a global scale. During the International Living with a Star (ILWS) meeting in Bremen, Germany, gathering representatives from more than 25 of the world's most technologically-advanced nations, they call for an international effort to develop better methods for forecasting space weather, predict solar storms, and stay safe from their effects.
