Thailand: PM calls urgent meeting on floods

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has instructed the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department to hold a meeting to discuss short- and long-term strategies for preventing floods and providing immediate assistance for flood victims in Bangkok and vicinity.

As per the Bangkok Post, the meeting on "Strategy for settling flooding problem in Bangkok and nearby provinces" will be held tomorrow, Sept 21, director general Wibul Sanguanpong said on Tuesday.
