Summary for Policy Makers of the new Special Report on Extremes (SREX) approved by IPCC

The Summary for Policymakers of the Special Report on Managing the Risks of Extreme Events and Disasters to Advance Climate Change Adaptation (SREX) was approved in Kampala, Uganda on 18 November by member governments of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

Rajendra Pachauri, Chair of the IPCC, declared: "This summary for policymakers provides insights into how disaster risk management and adaptation may assist vulnerable communities to better cope with a changing climate in a world of inequalities."
