Podcast: Making research work for others with Dr Catherine Grasham and Alice Chautard
Part of the challenge of doing research is then communicating it. And for research that seeks to be useful for practical action, this is further complicated by the fact that you have to make sure that it is actually relevant and accessible to practitioners. Communicating climate change and climate resilience is no easy feat as it’s something that is often intangible and hard to comphrehend. Learning how to listen to and engage with effected communities is important for identifying solutions and understanding the complex impacts changes can bring. One way of being able to describe and communicate the complexities of issues, as well as the human story of climate change impacts and water security, it to use photography.
In this podcast episode, we speak to Dr Catherine Grasham and Alice Chautard from REACH to learn all about their work on water security and resilience. REACH is a global research programme funded by UK aid and led by the University of Oxford that work with a global network of academic, government, practitioner and enterprise partners.
Their research looks at how to improve water security for the poor by delivering world-class science that then can transform policy and practice.
