Droughts will undeniably impact Datu Abdullah Sangki's economic, social and environmental aspects. Water shortages means soil degradation, high crop and livestock damage, and increased food production costs that will lead to food shortages, reduced harvests and lower incomes. For households and the community, a water shortage coupled with poor water quality may give rise to health problems including anxiety and depression, not to mention possible loss of lives.

Installing a rainwater collection system in all of its barangay can be one of Datu Abdullah Sangki's adaptation initiatives. It can be part of the Local Climate Change Action Plan, and funding can be allocated initially from the town's annual budget. Should the town intend to install more rainwater collection systems, securing funding from the provincial government is an option. Funds can also be solicited from sources like the business community or civic organizations.
