Mock drills and mock rescue operations were carried out by teams from different countries from the South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC) in Gujurat last week reports ANI. All of the SAARC countries were invited to the workshop but however only Bhutan, India and Nepal were able to participate.

"There are some disasters that we can prevent, but we cannot prevent any natural disaster. Therefore, it is better to be prepared to face it," said National Disaster Response Force 6th Battalion Assistant Commandant Anand Singh.

"In situation, where we have education, development, every kind of technology, and equipment, decrease in damage to property and life is possible. India is working hard at it," he added.
