India wants focus on adapting to climate change at upcoming UN Climate Conference

"Adaptation to the adverse effects of climate change is vital in order to respond to the impacts of climate change that are already happening, while at the same time preparing for the future," said India's Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar, as reported by DNA.

Javadekar stressed the need for giving more emphasis on adaptation as the world is "heading towards Conference of Parties at Lima, and ultimately in CoP in Paris in 2015, which will have the new regime of how we are dealing with climate change issue".
