"Sharing the experience and learning from all the countries in the region and building on this experience we should look towards making every school safe against disaster in each country and not only in the region" said Regional Development permanent secretary Manasa Vaniqi yesterday at a two-day workshop being held on school safety and disaster reduction.
The workshop is being hosted by the United Nations Centre for Regional Development (UNCRD) and the National Disaster Management Office (NDMO), yesterday.
"Schools are also centres for learning and spreading disaster risk reduction awareness in the community," he added.
