Bangladesh: Build capacity to utilise climate funds
Building on the extensive list of activities established in the Cancun Adaptation Framework, which includes vulnerability assessments, disaster risk reduction, and knowledge and information sharing that will help nations adapt to climate change, speakers at a UNDP round-table on "COP 16: Debrief and Way Forward" highlighted the emergence of many indicators of climate vulnerability in Bangladesh.
They called to concentrate on building capacity to utilise the climate change fund, underscored the need for an international political will to address the ongoing crucial climate change issue, and stressed the need for involving local communities to implement the adaptation programmes, reports the Daily Star.
