Arab states urged to prioritise disaster risk reduction

'Arab states not only share a common language, culture and historic heritage but also a number of regional and trans-boundary risks', writes Raed Omari of The Jordan Times, referring to the recently launched 'Arab Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction (ASDRR) 2020'. The report was released at the opening ceremony of the Third Session of the Global Platform on Disaster Risk Reduction held in Geneva, Switzerland, from 8-13 May 2011.
