Afforestation to resist disaster risk underscored

A day-long workshop held on 27 March 2008, emphasizing disaster-resistant sustainable forestation and plantation, introduced technology invented by Bangladesh Forest Research Institute (BFRI) to 84 participants ranging from forest officials and partners of social forestation movement to teachers, researchers and students. It is believed that planting and using bamboo to build structures and using the wood seasoning process invented by BFRI could compete among other world standards from China, Japan, Korea, and Burma.
