INTRO

 

Strengthening Capacities for Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilient Cities in Ningbo is co-organized by the ICLEI – Local Government for Sustainability and UNDRR ONEA-GETI, to introduce the cutting-edge knowledge, theory, tools, cases and international platforms of disaster risk reduction and resilient cities to relevant departments and experts in the city. Through interactive session and group discussion, participants will be guided to apply and practice the methodologies and tools from UNDRR’s “Make Cities Resilient” campaign, and ICLEI’s “Resilient Cities”, and will receive preliminary suggestions regarding the current status of disaster risk reduction and resilient cities in Ningbo from the experts.

OBJECTIVES

  • To improve the understanding of the methodologies and tools of disaster risk reduction and resilient cities
  • To identify the key working areas of disaster risk reduction and resilient cities, developed relevant strategies and action plans
  • To share best practices from equivalent cities across the globe
  • To introduce the international platforms from ICLEI and UNDRR
  • To support Ningbo City to achieve the development of resilient cities and strengthen its disaster risk reduction actions
